Wedding Cake For Breakfast

Cakiversary

As mentioned my hubby and I vacuum sealed our wedding cake the day after we got married April 9, 2016.  We decided that this was a great idea and maybe more people would want to freeze and vacuum seal their wedding cake, too.  So we decided we should probably buy a whole cake and freeze and vacuum seal it and then eat it every month.

April 24th, which happens to be my parents anniversary, we bought a cake and then sliced it up into 12 slices and froze it then sealed it.  Well we had a piece first.  It was very similar to our wedding cake except pistachio flavor.  The cake was crumbly but not dry, nutty flavor and a bit nutty, not too sweet. The icing was a pistachio buttercream icing with nuts throughout.  It was light and fluffy but butter was the main component coming through.  Together the perfect bite.

So fast forward to May 9, (We decided to celebrate on our anniversary so really 1st was only 2 weeks later and the 2nd was 6 but generally speaking more time has passed), we cut open the first slice, put it in the fridge for the day and then ate it for dessert later that night.  It really was like no time had passed.  It was still delicious, the cake kept its shape and texture the icing creamy and light.

I hate to bore you but June 9, a few days ago, the same!  Exciting every time but also it seems not exciting at all.

So here we are 2 months into our marriage and still happily eating cake.  No tummy aches and no complaints.  See you next month!
